Before we begin...

Susan Tamariz is an Environmental Engineer, International World Skate Judge and Secretary Judge, FinishLynx Electronic Timing certified Operator. In her officiating career, she has been Chief Judge in international events like the World Skate Games 2024 in Italy, the World Skate Marathon Tour 2024 in Cuba, the XIX Pan American Games Santiago 2023 in Chile, and the Pan American Speed Skating Championship 2023 in Medellín, Colombia. Additionally, since 2017, she has served as a Referee in national and international championships, including the World Inline Speed Skating Championships 2021-2023 and the Pan American Games Lima 2019.
Her experience also extends to training new judges, serving as a trainer at the Pan American Judging Congress 2024 and with the Peruvian National Skating Federation since 2019. Her goal is to continue promoting excellence in officiating and contribute to the global development of speed skating.

Mark Swindells has been involved in the sport of Speed Skating for over 20 years, from the time his sons took up the sport. Wanting to be more involved, he started on the path to becoming an official. Mark was certified as a Chief Referee in New Zealand in 2014, and has officiated at numerous New Zealand National Road, Banked Track, Flat Track and Marathon events. He has also officiated at several Australian National Championships and World Skate Oceania Championships.
Becoming an international judge in 2019, Mark officiated at the 2019 World RollerGames and was an invited judge at the 2023 World Championships and 2024 World Skate Games. He is an invited official at the 2025 World Games. Mark enjoys supporting local events and watching skaters progress from beginners to world class athletes. He also enjoys mentoring new officials and promoting the sport.

He has a degree in Pharmacy and Works as Study Coordinator in the Digestive Area from the Hospital General Universitario de Málaga. Previously, he worked as a Clinical Research Assistant in several companies.
Santiago is a speed skating judge since 2013, working in a lot of national championships. He worked in some international championships (World Roller Games 2019 and 2024, World Championship 2023, European Speed Skating Championship 2021 and 2025, European Cup Speed Skating 2022, 2023 and 2024, European Speed Track 2025 Series and African Skate Games 2023) and has been a lecturer on national, continental and international judging seminars.
